Chelmsford Street Collection Sat 1st Oct

Members of the Brentwood and Chelmsford Branch will be in Chelmsford High Street and High Chelmer Shopping Center on Saturday 1st October.

We should be pitched up outside the Meadows Shopping Center and Barclays Bank, so if you’re doing a spot of shopping at the new John Lewis store in Bond Street, pop by and say hi.

Super Slimming Smoothy Juice Recipe

Several of you have asked me for the recipe for the super slimming smooth juice diet I have been using.
Firstly, the Juicer I have is a Phillips HR1868 and I also have a regular blender.

Juice the following through the HR1868
4 x Apples
1 x knob of ginger
4 x sticks of celery
1 x cucumber

Fill the blender with :
Handful of Ice
1 x avocado
The contents of the juicer

Blend for 45 seconds until all the lumps from the avocado have gone.

This will make approximately 2 pints of super slimming smoothy.  Have one pint for breakfast and one for lunch.  You can then have a regular evening meal such as chicken salad, chicken and broccoli, chicken and rice, fishcake salad, sea bass and vegetable.

If you make your juice in the morning, you can store lunch in a “shaker” bottle in the fridge.  Don’t be concerned at lunch time with the contents of your juice, you have to shake it will before consuming.

NHS Continuing Healthcare at Home: A Consultation on Proposed Policy Review

Please find below links to a consultation on NHS continuing healthcare that Enable East has been independently commissioned to run on behalf of Mid Essex Clinical Commissioning Group.

The consultation regards proposals for how NHS continuing healthcare is provided in someone’s home in the future.

We would encourage you to forward this consultation onto any person or group who may be interested in this consultation.

NHS continuing healthcare is a package of care funded solely by the NHS that is awarded to eligible adults to meet needs that have arisen as a result of disability, accident or illness. It may be provided in any setting including, but not limited to, a care home, hospice or the person’s own home.

The consultation concerns how NHS continuing healthcare resources in someone’s home should be allocated in Mid Essex in future.

The proposals would not affect resources allocated to those currently receiving NHS continuing care at home, although some care providers might change.

How to say your say

You can watch a brief video where the head of nursing, Laura Marshall, explains the consultation via this link

Mid Essex CCG wants to hear people’s views on this consultation and is encouraging feedback – please see the consultation paper and survey attached. You can complete the survey online, if you wish, via this link:

Cycle Ride Maldon to Paris

12 elite cyclists set off from Maldon on Saturday lead by our very own Geoff Hume to raise money for the branch.  Their destination was Paris and they successfully landed there on Monday after their 227 mile journey.

Monthly Social Group

With the better weather and longer days ahead of us the Monthly Social Group Evenings will recommence after the Winter break on Tuesday, 28th April.
These popular evenings are a chance to relax and unwind with your Committee, other Branch members and their families. We even have a therapist on hand to offer a massage to those tight muscles being challenged by MS.
So come and join us for a drink and a smile from 7.30pm at Margaretting Village Hall, Wantz Road, Margaretting CM4 0EP!

Lunch Dates And Coffee Mornings

These are still a regular feature in our diary of events, with lunch dates being held at The Angel, Broomfield Road, Chelmsford and coffee mornings at The Lordship Cafe, Writtle.
The Coffee Mornings take place on the first Saturday of every month from 10am, and Lunch Dates commence at 12pm, on Wednesday, 22nd April, Thursday, 21st May and Thursday, 25th June.
These dates are all listed in the Events a Summary, so detach the list, attach it to your fridge or place it somewhere handy so you don’t miss out!.

Too Old for Lycra!

We thought that would get your attention!

We are proud of the work our members put in to helping the Branch, and another example of such work is the sponsored bike ride to France taking place between 2nd – 5th May. This is being organised by one of our members to raise funds specifically for this Branch.
Anyone wishing to donate should go to the following webpage, reference
Too Old for Lycra Ride to Paris.
Good luck to all those participating!
